Gillian met with Matt Warman MP, Minister for Digital Infrastructure at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
During their meeting, Gillian outlined the key challenges facing communities across the Chichester constituency, both in highly rural and isolated settings, but also the poor digital infrastructure in our more developed areas too. The Minister went through Project Gigabit and how it acts as an incentive for Openreach to deliver the infrastructure.
In the meeting, Gillian also restated calls she'd made on previous occasions for increased funding allocations for West Sussex as part of Project Gigabit, which is looking to commence from the end of this year, with spades in the ground from 2023. The Minister assured Gillian he would look at her request further as he considered funding allocations.
