I have been thinking long and hard about who would be the best person to lead our country at this difficult time. Making my decision has not been easy as the stakes are high and there are several great candidates.
I believe that every Member in this place—on both sides of the House, in every party—came here wanting to reduce inequality and boost social mobility. At the most basic level, there will always be inequality.
I thank my hon. Friend for securing this debate. I met my constituent Jack when I went to visit our local hospital. It is not surprising that I met him, because he spends six months in the hospital every year. He is now running out of treatment; he has tried everything.
