I had a wonderful Christmas in West Sussex catching up with many members of my family and friends who I haven’t seen much since becoming an MP last summer. It was nice to spend some time at home and enjoy the combination of long bracing walks, relaxed lunches and log fires.
The magic of Christmas has definitely touched the palace of Westminster. The place is transformed by massive Christmas trees, a Christmas market inside Westminster Hall and many carol services, usually supporting a charity.
Gillian Keegan MP visited the Chichester Post Office this morning to see their recently opened site within Sussex Stationers on North Street in Chichester. Gillian met with the staff and was shown around by the branch manager Heidi and Laura, the external affairs manager for the South of England.
Last week I led my first Westminster Hall debate on what I believe is an important topic ‘Youth Employment’. This is an area where Government initiatives have been overall successful in getting more young people into work.
