In her role as Minister of State at the Department for Health and Social Care, Gillian backed the Down's Syndrome Bill on behalf of the Government. In her remarks Gillian shared her personal experiences and that of her family as her nephew, Joseph has Down's syndrome.
A Bill to make provision about meeting the needs of persons with Down syndrome; to place a duty on local authorities to assess the likely social care needs of persons with Down syndrome and plan provision accordingly; and for connected purposes.
