Today we said goodbye to Amber who is leaving our office after two years to become an office manager in the financial services industry. Amber joined the team at the height of the pandemic to help manage the growing amount of casework. She will be greatly missed by the whole team who wish her the very best as she begins her next venture.

"The past two years have been a whirlwind, having joined Gillian’s office to support the team with casework at the height of the pandemic in 2020. It was an unexpected but happy surprise when the team reached out to offer me a job after my two weeks of work experience in 2019.

Gillian has been amazing to work for and it has been a privilege to be in the House of Commons and watch a successful woman in politics. I have learnt a huge amount and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her. Gillian has been extremely supportive every step of the way and is always keen to hear the team’s opinions, which helped me to grow in confidence in my work. No two days were the same being a Caseworker. I have had the opportunity to deal with so many different subjects and explore areas of particular interest. For me, the job was so rewarding as I was able to help people in the local community. One case that has stuck with me was helping to secure a permanent home for a woman who’d previously been made homeless. There aren’t many jobs where you can undertake such meaningful and rewarding work and there are several cases that will stay with me.

My time within the team has been brilliant, from my very first day as work experience to my final one - they are kind, compassionate, hard-working, and a lot of fun - I will miss them all! I will always be extremely grateful to Gillian for giving me such an amazing opportunity and will always remember my time here."
