Chichester MP raises concerns with Police Chief

Friday, 5 June, 2020

Following the inaugural meeting of the new taskforce, Gillian raised her concerns with Chief Constable, Giles York and our Police and Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne.

Gillian shared also expressed the concern of Parish Councillors who attended the initial meeting. During the meeting, Gillian called for greater enforcement and innovation in tackling fast, dangerous and often noisy driving across our area.

In response Sussex Police were highly positive, sharing recent enforcement operations ongoing through Op. Downsway, as well as some further areas they are looking into to tackle this issue.

Gillian's comments have been followed up by a joint letter to the Chief from both herself and colleague, Andrew Griffith, MP for Arun and South Downs.
