Update from Gillian Keegan MP on Southern Rail

I have received a letter from the Secretary of State for Transport, The Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, who has informed me that ASLEF union has agreed to end their dispute with GTR on Driver Controlled Operation. The union voted 79% in favour of ending the dispute with 87% turnout.

Gillian teaches Business Studies at Midhurst Rother College

Gillian had her first ever teaching experience yesterday, with a class of year 10s at Midhurst Rother College. Her lesson was on the not for profit sector of business entitled The New Revolution Social entrepreneurship in the 21st century.

Gillian visits West Dean

Gillian Keegan MP visited West Dean College and had a working luncheon with The Board of Trustees of The Edward James Foundation on Friday 3 November 2017 where the college presented their ten-year strategy Vision 2027 to the Foundation’s key stakeholders.

Gillian discusses funding with Nick Gibb MP

Gillian Keegan MP met with Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for School Standards, to discuss the changes to school funding. The Minister ran through the new National Funding Formula with the Chichester MP explaining the funding model and the financial increases expected to schools in the area.

Chichester MP comments on RMT Strikes

It has been announced the RMT have decided to hold their 37th and 38th strike on the 8th and 9th November. I am very frustrated that this decision has been taken, along with the lack of progress in talks.

Gillian Keegan MP had a meeting with Jim O'Sullivan and Louise Goldsmith

Gillian Keegan MP met with Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council and Jim O'Sullivan, Chief Executive of Highways England, to discuss the A27 improvement schemes in Westminster.  During their meeting they discussed the outcome requirements for future improvement suggestions.
