Gillian Keegan MP has been working to address homelessness in the Chichester area. Currently there are between 60-80 homeless and rough sleepers in the City. Gillian has also been working on this issue nationally with her role on the Public Accounts Select Committee.

Chichester MP supports Socktober appeal to support the homeless

Chichester MP Gillian Keegan has backed Yorkshire Building Society’s Socktober appeal on World Homeless Day.

The Society is running the month-long Socktober appeal throughout October as part of its charity partnership with End Youth Homelessness (EYH).

Chichester MP visits homeless breakfast

This morning Gillian Keegan MP went to St Pancras Church in Chichester to meet some of the estimated 80 people who sleep rough in the city. The church hosts a cooked breakfast every Monday morning organised by Tom Mawes and Canon Mark Payne.

I recently led the evidence session on the state of mental health in our prisons as part of my role on the Public Accounts Committee. This required a fair bit of research as I knew nothing about our prisons and, like most people, had never even been inside one.
